HI, I'M NIKKI
Despite having 20 years of Professional Presenting experience I used to hate public speaking!
My fear was so intense that it could have held me back from my my dream career. Determined to overcome this challenge, I dedicated myself to understanding why so many of us fear speaking in front of others.
Fast foward to today and I’ve built a career I once thought was out of reach for a little Northern girl that didn't like to stand out too much.
HOW IT STARTED :
in 2005 I made a showreel and bagged my first tele job as an Entertainment Reporter on SKY before cutting my teeth in Live Tele as Co-Anchor of a daily 3 hour Live Breakfast Show, I stayed there for two years despite having no clue what I was doing except what I'd always been in trouble for at School -talking and having a laugh, asking people to tell me their stories! I bloody loved it, and when you're having fun your audience does too.
I leapt into the freelance world not really having a clue how you went about getting gigs and the universe blessed me with 2 dream jobs at once - I became the first (and only) Backstage Presenter on the UK's Biggest Entertainment Show, BBC 1's Strictly Come Dancing for six glorious series where my cheeky Northern charm was unleashed bringing uber fans all the juicy gossip and getting the celebs and dancers involved in all sorts of funny nonsense.
Meanwhile my inner geek was in her element Presenting the infamous Gadget section over on BBC 2 the following morning on 'Something for the Weekend'. Live tele and Technology should never really be mixed so this was where my humour and quick thinking saved my bacon many a time, and my career in Technology Presenting was born.
PS - At this stage i was still terrified of 'Public Speaking' and said no to SOOOO many amazing opportunities if it meant having many eyeballs staring at me in the same room
THE SHIFT:
My lightbulb moment came after I had my son, he was a toddler and I was a newly single mum and someone offered me a lovely fee for what sounded like a fun job hosting a gig Awards event at the Tate Modern in London - how could I say no? Why had I been saying no for so long? and was this what I wanted to teach my son?
So I said yes! and I bloody did it - and do you know what I didn't die (bonus!)
In fact I kinda liked it in a weird 'that was uncomfortable but fun' way, and I made a decision right there that I was going to smash this irrational fear to bits as actually I was pretty good at it, and overcoming 'scary' things are what shape us the most.
HOW IT'S GOING:
Now I speak in front of Live audiences of thousands regularly and work with some of the world's biggest brands Presenting their branded content, Summits, Awards Events and everything in between - and It's my passion and my joy
...and for the last 5 years I've also been coaching people just like you!

MY STORY
My first part of my life-changing journey in life came after I lost my dad, I was a young girl who'd just left University eager to embark on the world of work - and overnight my whole world changed.
In the process of grieving, I took a Life Coaching course and gave myself some time to really think about what would fulfill me in life.
I had just started my first Graduate Job at an Advertising Agency, and whilst it was creative I looked at everyone around me and the stress on their faces and I knew this would not light up my soul.
So, I left! and as I nervously made that first showreel with wobbly hands and a nervous voice I thought of my lovely dad, threw myself in despite the fear and I started on my path.
